Know what to mix tonight, and when to start

Proof turns your orders into batches and plans each one back from its pickup time. It uses your hours, your hands and your oven. If a loaf will be late, you see it on the plan, not at the oven door.

The demo is a working bakery you can click around. No signup, nothing to install.

Saturday's bake plan across a mixer, a bench and two ovens, with one late batch flagged.

Right now, the plan lives in your head

  • You count loaves, then do batch math on the back of an envelope.
  • You guess when to mix so the last loaves are out before pickup.
  • Two recipes need the oven at the same time, and you find out at 5 AM.
  • One big cafe order, and the whole weekend falls apart.

Proof does the math and the clock. You get a plan you can really bake, and a warning while there is still time to fix it.

What you get

Batches in two clicks

Pick a date and press Preview. Proof splits the demand into batches using each recipe's yield. 54 Country Sourdough at 12 a batch is 5 batches. Change the batch size for this run if you need to, then confirm.

  • Batch size comes from the recipe's yield
  • Override the size for one run. The recipe stays the same
  • Loaves already in a batch are not counted twice
The Make batches preview: four recipes, the units needed, units per batch with one changed for this run, and 13 batches to create.

Planned back from pickup time

Each batch is placed as late as it can go and still be ready on time, so the bread is fresh. Hands-on steps and bakes stay inside your workday. Long ferments and cold proofs can run overnight.

Each oven, mixer and proofer runs one step at a time, so the plan never books the same oven twice.

  • Workday hours and work days, set once
  • How many bakers can work at once
  • Every piece of equipment you add
Bake plan settings: workday 4 AM to 4 PM, five work days, two bakers at once, and four pieces of equipment.

A full day pulls work earlier

When Saturday is full, Proof moves batches to Friday, as far as each recipe allows. Recipes can start 1 day early by default. Set it to 0 for bread that has to be baked on the day.

Saturday at 100 percent, with two Country Sourdough batches moved to Friday.

Late means late, and you see it early

If a batch still cannot make its time, the plan marks it late and says by how many minutes. It also warns you when two batches need the same equipment at once. Know better? Pin a start time. Press Auto to hand it back to the plan.

  • Late by how many minutes, for each batch
  • A warning when two batches need the same oven
  • Pinned batches stay put. The rest plan around them
The plan as a list: one batch late by 20 minutes, one start time pinned, with Pin and Auto buttons.

A batch board for bake day

Every batch is a card. Drag it to In progress when you start and to Done when it comes out. Proof asks how many you actually made, then takes the ingredients out of inventory.

The batch board with Planned, In progress and Done columns, and the question that appears when a batch is done.

Questions about bake plan

Something else? Email help@tryproof.io and a person will answer.

I have one home oven. Is this too much?
No. Add one oven and one baker. The plan still tells you when to start so the last bake is out before pickup, and it flags the day you sold more than one oven can bake.
My starter is slow today. Now what?
Pin the start time where it really is. Pinned batches and batches in progress stay put, and the rest of the plan works around them.
Does it plan overnight ferments?
Yes. Waiting steps like bulk ferment and cold proof can run outside your workday. Hands-on steps and bakes stay inside it.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Proof runs in your phone's browser, including the plan and the batch board. There is no app to install.
